GUWAHATI, Feb 13: Following directives from the DGP (Director General of Police), Assam, a special measure has been initiated to resolve the pending cases in various police stations at the earliest.
In pursuance of the directive, a senior official of a police station will have to deal with public grievances in a mission mode from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm everyday and settle them at the earliest.
It is worth mentioning that already officials have been deputed in the respective police stations across the state.
The objective of this step is to make the state police force more humane and people centric. In this regard, the DGP has sought co-operation from the masses in general.
It is important to note that the state police authority has also asked the SPs to ensure that under no circumstances should the mission get derailed in any measure.
The DGP has also assured the public that he would personally supervise the entire matter, and added that he will not tolerate any lapse in this mission, stated a press release from CPRO, Assam Police.
