DIPHU, Feb 13: Preliminary rounds for the National Rock Contest-2023 will be held on February 17 at Arboretum cum Craft Centre, Matipung here.
The RTMS (Racket Tailed Musical Society) has organised the National Rock Contest on the occasion of 49th KYF (Karbi Youth Festival ) which will begin on February 15 and will conclude on February 19. The KYF is hosted by ;the KCS (Karbi Cultural Society ).
RTMS Treasurer Rahul Hanse informed that altogether 20 bands from various states of the country would participate in the preliminary rounds. The final will be at the Semson Sing Engti Open Stage, Karbi People’s hall, Taralangso, on February 19. He also informed that RTMS in collaboration with KCS has organised the ‘National Rock Contest’.
The participants in the preliminary rounds are “Existence” from Ranchi along with “Next to Blue Moon”, “Naga Incarnate”, “Since 90’s”, ‘Kenny and Faith Band’ and ‘Blood of the Tomato’ from Nagaland. “Tokyo Lights” and “Maestro” are from Haflong; “Dissected Soul” from Darjeeling; “Audile” from Assam; “Fredy’s’” from Mizoram and “D’Errors” from Kolkata.
Bands from Karbi Anglong include Onslaught Anabolic, Alternate Agenda, Under the Reconstruction, Trivial, The Redeemer and The Fallen and Mintor. Hope for Humanity- a band from Karbi Anglong has got Wildcard Entry to the Finale.
This time, the RTMS has invited “Magdalene”, a band from Mizoram, as a special appearance on February 19, added Hanse.
