TEZPUR, Feb 24: The incident of a ghastly road accident took place here near Balipara in the early morning of Friday in which five youths lost their lives.
As per reports, the accident occurred around 2 am on National Highway 15 near Balipara Meat Supply area under Salonibari police outpost near Tezpur.

The tragic accident occurred when the car, a Swift Dzire bearing registration number AS12 R 2115, hit a roadside tree.
On receiving input about the incident police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies and sent them to Kanaklata Civil Hospital for autopsy and other legal and medical formalities.
“The accident took place when the five occupants of the car were on their way to Tezpur from Balipara. The five people, all in the age group of 25-30 years, died on the spot,” a police officer said.
The deceased were later identified as Akashdeep Bora of Balipukhuri Tiniali area, Keshab Patangia of Balipukhuri Tiniali area, Dwipen Bora of Gatanga area, Biswajit Saikia of Rangapukhuri par and Bidyut Nath of Besseria area here.
Meanwhile, in another case of a road accident in Joradia near Dhekiajuli under Dhekiajuli police station on NH 15, a sixty-year-old person lost his life. The person identified as Md Kasem Ali, a resident of Joradia Moila Ali area, died on spot while he was hit by an Ultra Bus on Friday.
