GUWAHATI, March 5: The office of development commissioner (DC) of the ministry of micro small and medium enterprises (MSME) has been organising ‘MSME Technology Centers Conclave’ at Jyoti Chitraban, Kahilipara, Guwahati from March 5-6, to showcase the technology strength of technology centers and hand-hold support to MSMEs of NE Region including other relevant schemes of Ministry of MSME.

The MSME sector plays a major role in the development of manufacturing as well as service sector and contributes significantly in growth of Indian economy. This sector also generates largest employment in the country, after agriculture sector. The technology centers set up countrywide by ministry of MSME, extend the right stimulus for growth & integrated development of the industry, particularly the micro, small and medium enterprises, by way of providing quality tools, trained personnel and consultancy in tooling and related areas.
The Ministry is in the process of setting up more such technology centers across the nation, to cater the increasing technological needs of MSME sector owing to competitiveness in global market, demand of skilled manpower to become competitive in global market & self reliant in domestic market in pursuit of achieving the goals of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The TCs have modern technology, machinery and testing equipment and their services are offered to the MSMEs at very competitive price. The ministry has been investing periodically to upgrade these TCs by introducing latest technologies such as 3D Printing, CAD/CAM, CNC Machines, vacuum heat treatment, Robotics and Process Automation etc.
This conclave is being organised to showcase the functions & activities of various TCs across India to enable MSMEs and other industries especially of NER to avail the benefits. The various technical topics will also be presented during the conclave by the experts from different sectors.
The event will be attended by minister of state for MSME and minister, industries, commerce & PE Deptt., Assam.
