TEZPUR, March 18: Retired professor of Darrang College and an inhabitant of Kumargaon Dr. Pranil Goswami passed away on Saturday afternoon at a resort in Mumbai-Lonavala due to a cardiac arrest.
Family sources said that Late Goswami who had been at his Mumbai based daughter’s home for the last few days went out for an outing with the family on Saturday and visited a resort there where he had suddenly faced cardiac arrest and breathed his last.
He was rushed to a nearby nursing home wherein he was declared dead. He was 72. A gold medalist from Gauhati University, late Goswami served Darrang College for a long stint and retired as HoD in the department of Zoology. He was connected with several organisations in Tezpur including Tezpur Asomyia Club, Tarun Asam Sangha along with many other socio-cultural organisations. Different organisations here and local MLA, Prithvi Raj Rabha deeply mourned the death of the noted academician.
