IMPHAL, March 19 (NNN): Union minister for Labour & Employment and Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav paid a visit to Tamenglong district headquarters in Manipur on Saturday.
The Union minister arrived in Imphal today on a two-day visit to the state.
On day one of the visit, the Union minister reviewed progress status of various developmental projects being implemented in Tamenglong district with the district level officers in a meeting held at the mini-secretariat building.
“Reached Tamenglong in Manipur and met with officials of the district administration to take stock of the development work”, Yadav wrote in his Facebook page.
He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Act East Policy has made visible positive differences on ground. The meeting discussed ways to accelerate growth in the region.
“Vibrant culturally and rich in biodiversity, Tamenglong is a visitor’s delight. The region has immense potential for growth and the government remains committed to harnessing its full potential,” he further wrote.
After the review meeting, the Union minister proceeded to Chiulon village where he interacted with the villagers to air their grievances.
The villagers welcomed him with a cultural dance performance.
