Demand For Autonomous State : KADHASDCOM To Stage Demonstration At Jantar Mantar

DIPHU, March 20: The Karbi Anglong-Dima Hasao Autonomous State Demand Committee (KADHASDCOM) is going to stage a demonstration at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on March 23.

In a press conference held in its office here, the president of KADHASDCOM, Ajit Timung said, “The demonstration is for demanding the introduction of a Government Bill and passing for creating of Autonomous State comprising Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao.”

In a press release, the organisation said more than 400 delegates are going to participate in the demonstration.

The organisation thanked the chief executive member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang for taking interest in the immediate implementation of Autonomous State under Article 244 (A) of the Constitution of India.

“All the political leaders of the hill districts are urged to sacrifice for the sake of the Autonomous State. The social organisations are requested not to accept ‘more power to Autonomous Council’ which means less than Autonomous State,” the release by KADHASDCOM further stated.
