Awareness program for farmers held at Samaguri college

NAGAON, March 28: Regional Agriculture Research Station (RARS) organised a day-long farmers’ awareness program on the utility of weather forecasting in agriculture under its Gramin Krishi Mausam Sewa at Samaguri college on March 22 last. The program was chaired by noted small tea grower and chief minister’s progressive farmers’ awardee Sunil Phukan.

In the program, Dr DC Hazarika, principal scientist of Regional Agriculture Research Station (RARS), Shilongani; Assam Agriculture University scientists Dr BK Borah and Dr N Rahman, Binod Kalita, G Kataki, Dr Navajyoti Deka; HoD, department of Geography, Samaguri College, Dr. Debajit Borah, spoke on the issues as special guests. The program that aimed at educating the farmers for making the utmost use of technology saw the participation of over 100 farmers from the greater Samaguri area.
