NALBARI, April 25: “Every litterateur has a responsibility to maintain commitment with the society; I hope the youth are studious and wise to judge every corner of the society. Knowledge carries courage for establishment of justice,” prof Abani Kr. Bhagawati said in the open session of the 17th Assam poet Chamata Conference in Nalbari. Inaugurating the souvenir namely ‘Buradia Kabya Lahar’ edited by poet Hanesh Barman and John Haloi, Bhagawati mentioned the contribution of poet Sukanta Bhattacharjya and Kabiguru Rabindra Nath Tagore, Hiren Bhattacharya, Nilomani Phoolan, etc. Another book published in the memory of Late Karuna Kanta Barman was inaugurated by poet Hasmot Ali. Earlier, Dipak Kr. Sarma, president of the reception committee addressed the welcome speech in the meeting.
