HAFLONG: The Dima Hasao district transport office has launched a special inspection drive against Dumpers and Pickup trucks. The special drive is undertaken by the authority for valid road tax, fitness of the vehicle, pollution certificate, insurance and permits as directed by the higher authority.

It is informed that during the special drive/checking of vehicles by the enforcement inspector team it was found that many vehicles were found with lack of valid documents like road tax, pollution and collected several thousands of rupees as penalty.
Hemen Langthasa i/c Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI), Haflong, Dima Hasao said that the special drive for checking of vehicle is also undertaken in response to accidents and aware the vehicle drivers on traffic rules so as to reduce incidents of road accidents.
