DIPHU, May 5: Assam Legislative Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) visited Diphu on Friday to review the progress of various government schemes and projects implemented in the area. The Committee, led by MLA and Chairman Wazid Ali Chaudhury, met the heads of Line departments in the Conference Hall of Circuit House, Diphu, and visited various sites to assess the status of the schemes.
The meeting was attended by the Principal Secretary of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Mukul Kumar Saikia, and the Deputy Commissioner, Madhumita Bhagwaty. The heads of various departments were questioned by the committee about the progress of the schemes in their respective departments.
The PAC, which comprises eight members, including MLAs Ramendra Narayana Kalita, Basanta Das, Utbal Bora, Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha, Bhabendra Nath Bharali, and Hafiz Basir Ahmed, emphasized the importance of not compromising on the quality of the schemes while implementing them.
During the two-day visit, the Committee also made a field visit to assess the progress and status of various schemes and projects implemented by the various departments in the district.
