‘Anusmriti: Ek Atmakatha’ launched in Tezpur

TEZPUR, May 9:
Seema Thakur, an alumna of Tezpur Rashtrabhasha Vidyalaya and a person with a disability who belongs to economically weaker section in Tezpur proved that neither poor pecuniary condition nor physical disadvantage is an obstacle for creative works by presenting her first autobiographical creation entitled – ‘Anusmriti: Ek Atmakatha’ to the readers. The autobiographical work of the girl in wheelchair who uses to support her family by running a pan shop in Mahabhairab Bazar, here was launched by Dr Ananta Nath, retired HOD, Hindi, Tezpur University and former president of Tezpur Hindi Sahitya Sammelan in a programme held at Tezpur Rashtrabhasha Vidyalaya on Monday.

While launching the book, Dr Ananta Nath highlighted various aspects of autobiographical writings and said that writing an autobiographical book is the most difficult task. Further, he blessed Seema with inspiring words to move forward in her life with such creative efforts and said that her endeavour will certainly inspire all.

Attending as the distinguished guest, MLA Tezpur Prithiraj Rabha urged all the students of the school to go through the book authored by an alumna like Seema and assured her with government assistance so far possible in the days ahead. Ritubaran Sarma, vice chairman, AMTRON in his speech during the programme urged all to focus on creative works like Seema. Prominent actress, Dr Jahanara Begum mentioned her spiritual relationship with Seema and said that her sensitive mind is desperate for the welfare of the needy at every moment.

Dr Bhupen Saikia, president, Sonitpur Zila Sahitya Sabha praised her effort and said that will power is the great strength for such efforts. The meeting was presided over by Suresh Sirohia, president, Tezpur Rashtrabhasa Vidyalaya Management and Development Committee and was moderated by assistant teacher Pankaj Barua.

Among others, Ramesh Chandra Kalita, president, Tezpur Sahitya Sabha, Mridul Kumar Bora, chief secretary, Uttar Asom Dibyanga Santha, Monomati Kurmi, principal secretary, Sadou Asom Lekhika Samaroh Samiti, noted singer, Durgamoyee Bora, Hiranya Kumar Das, etc., attended the programme. At the very outset Bijoy Kandulna, head teacher of the school delivered the welcome address.
