Balipara Sahitya Sabha launches three books

TEZPUR, July 9: Balipara Sahitya Sabha , a noted branch of Sonitpur Zila Sahitya Sabha launched three books in a meeting held at Hornbill Lodge ,Balipara near Tezpur  on  Sunday . The meeting presided over by Hemen Saikia, president, Balipara Sahitya Sabha was ceremonially started with lighting of a lantern by Asam Sahitya Sabha Central Body member Mahendra Kumar Nath which was followed by a Borgeet presentation by the members of Balipara Sahitya Sabha.

The book entitled ‘Nishigandhar Usuponi’ and ‘Samarthak Sabdakosh’ penned by noted literary personality and teacher Ambia Begum was inaugurated by Dr Bhupen Saikia , eminent writer and president , Sonitpur Zila Sahitya Sabha and Dr Charu Saharia Nath, retired principal and former president of Asom Lekhika Samaroh Samiti. ‘Xobdor Akashat Kachijon’ the third publication of Balipara Sahitya Sabha edited by Rupa Dutta and Ambia Begum was launched in the august gathering by Jadab Chandra Sarma, former general secretary of Asam Sahitya Sabha.

Dr Bhupen Saikia, Dr Charu Saharia Nath and Jadab Chandra Sarma while launching the books highly commended the efforts initiated by Balipara Sahitya Sabha and requested all to improve our reading culture.

Being attended as guest of honour in the meeting hosted by Nirala Deka ,secretary of Balipara Sahitya Sabha  Monomati Kurmi, secretary, Asom Lekhika Samaroh Samiti, Mahendra Kumar Nath, Asam Sahitya Sabha Central Body member, Manish Thakur, BEEO, Balipara, Dr Aswini Kumar Deka, HOD, Assamese ,Rangapara College, Kharanan Dev Nath, vice president, Sonitpur Zila Sahitya Sabha in their speech narrated  the importance of literature in our society and   urged all to come forward to work together for enrichment of our language and literature in this crucial period . Principal Rajesh Dutta, Rajnish Saikia, Tapan Das Thaneswar Saikia also shared their views in the meeting.

Among other dignitaries former chief convener of Asom Sena Niranjan Nath, Zila Parishad Member Mrinal Saikia, litterateur Nakul Kurmi, Habibur Rahman, Abani Bora, Jyoti Bhatta, Gaurab Mahanta, Sahin Ahmed, Dhrubajyoti Nath and office bearers of Balipara Sahitya Sabha attended the meeting which was concluded with  Jatiya Sangeet.
