GUWAHATI, April 27: A free ‘Oncology Screening Camp’ by B Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI), Guwahati under the aegis of Tata Memorial Hospital Trust was organised at 151 Base Hospital, Basistha on Wednesday. Besides screening of elderly veterans and their dependents for oncology related issues, it also provided an opportunity to create awareness about prevention of Cancer amongst women and elderly veterans.
The screening was done by a team of doctors under director, BBCI, Guwahati at 151 Base Hospital, Basistha. An awareness programme was also conducted for the participants. Senior officials of 101 Area, 51 Sub Area, Commandant 151 Base Hospital and director, Regional Center ECHS, Guwahati (coordinator) were present and facilitated the screening and health check up. During the screening camp, a Grievance-cum-Info Kiosk on ECHS matters was also established by Regional Centre ECHS, Guwahati to facilitate ‘On the Spot’ redressal of grievances related to ECHS cards and claims. The free screening camp was utilised by Veer Naaris, Veterans and their dependents of Kamrup (M), Kamrup (R), Goalpara, Nagaon, Nalbari, Chirang, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Dhubri, Sonitpur and Darrang districts of Assam.
