DIPHU, May 23: Karbi Anglong administration and Karbi Students Association (KSA) carried out an anti-drugs awareness programme at Diphu Government College and various other educational institutions of the district.
SP, Karbi Anglong, Sanjeev Kumar Saikia participating in the programme at Diphu Government College here said, “As part of the Government of India’s Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhijan to rid the nation of drugs we have carried out the programme in 110 schools and colleges in the district in which more than 15,000 students took part. A pledge has been made which was done in both English and Karbi languages so that all students may understand and take in the meaning.”
The Judicial Department of the district also participated in the programme and the CJM, Pronita Morang was present in the Diphu Government College event.
The event was also held at Diphu Government Boys HS School and Don Bosco HS School along with other educational institutions.
In Bokajan Sub-Division the anti-drugs programme was held in Bokajan HS School, Jinbaba High School, Vivekanand HS School, Eastern Karbi Anglong College, Deopani College, Bokajan College lapen College, HS School, School, etc.
SPDO, Bokajan Sub-Division, John Das; OC of Bokajan Police Station, Mwblik Brahma, etc participated in the programme.
