Arunachal Governor extends warm greetings on Dree festival

Itanagar, July 5: Lt General KT Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd), Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, has extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of the Dree Festival.

In a message shared through an official statement, the Governor conveyed hopes for joy, good health, prosperity, and an abundant harvest for every household in the state.

Recognising the significance of the festival, the Governor described Dree as a profound expression of the Apatani community’s close relationship with nature, their agricultural lifestyle, and their rich cultural heritage.

“The Dree Festival is not only a celebration of agricultural abundance but also a vibrant reflection of our tribal identity and the unity that binds Arunachal’s diverse communities,” he said.

The Governor urged the elders and youth of the Apatani community to take pride in their traditions and play an active role in preserving their cultural roots.

He emphasised the importance of passing down these customs to future generations to ensure the continuity of Arunachal Pradesh’s cultural wealth.

“As we celebrate this time-honoured festival, let the spirit of Dree inspire us to work together for collective growth, harmony, and a brighter future,” the Governor said.

He concluded his message with prayers to Danyi Piillo, seeking divine blessings for peace, harmony, and the well-being of all humanity.
