He expressed hope that the vibrant festival would bring prosperity, good harvests, and happiness to every household across Arunachal Pradesh.

In his message, the Governor said that indigenous festivals like Chindang beautifully reflect the deep bond between the people and nature.

He noted that such celebrations remind everyone of their gratitude to the natural world, as prayers and rituals during Chindang are offered to the mountains, rivers, the Sun, and the Moon, invoking their blessings for well-being and abundance.

The community also prays for protection from evil spirits and for the safety of domestic animals, which form the backbone of rural livelihood.

He lauded the indigenous communities for preserving the wisdom of living in harmony with nature — a legacy built on respect, sustainability, and care for the environment.

“It is truly heartening to see our indigenous communities uphold age-old traditions that celebrate coexistence with nature. Let the spirit of Chindang strengthen unity, cultural pride, and social harmony,” the Governor said, joining his Sajolang brethren in offering prayers for the health, happiness, and welfare of all.
