Arunachal Governor extends Pham Kho Sowai festival greetings to Khowa Community

ITANAGAR, Sept 9: The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt General KT Parnaik, (Retd), has extended his warm greetings to the people of the State, especially the Khowa community, on the occasion of the Pham Kho Sowai festival, an official statement said on Tuesday.

In his message, the Governor expressed his hope that the festival would usher in a season of good harvests, prosperity, and happiness for all households.

He highlighted the significance of festivals in preserving the cultural identity and values of communities, while fostering unity and a sense of belonging.

“Festivals are the soul of our communities. They reflect who we are, what we cherish, and the values we pass on to the next generation. In Arunachal Pradesh, where agriculture plays a vital role in our way of life, our festivals are closely connected to the rhythms of the land. The Pham Kho Sowai, celebrated during the harvest season, is a shining example of this bond between people, culture, and nature,” the Governor said.

He further expressed confidence that the festival would continue to nurture and safeguard the rich cultural heritage of the Khowa tribe, ensuring that traditions are carried forward by future generations.

Concluding his message, the Governor conveyed his solidarity with the Khowa community and offered prayers to the Almighty for good health, peace, and contentment in everyone’s lives.

“On this special day, I join my Khowa brethren in offering prayers for good health, peace, and contentment,” he added. The Governor’s message underscores the importance of cultural festivals like Pham Kho Sowai in promoting harmony and preserving the unique heritage of Arunachal Pradesh.
