ITANAGAR, Oct 7: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General KT Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd) on Tuesday participated in a plantation programme at the Border Roads Organisation’s Project Brahmank Complex in Pasighat, East Siang district.
The event was held as part of the Governor’s ongoing initiative ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, which promotes environmental conservation and community-driven afforestation.
On the occasion, the Governor planted a Bottle Palm sapling in the presence of Project Brahmank Chief Engineer SC Looniya, Superintendent Engineers RK Shrivastava, Rajendra Kumar, and BK Shrivastava, along with Colonel GR Vasist and other BRO officials.
Interacting with the officers and personnel, Lt Gen Parnaik lauded the dedicated service of Project Brahmank and its significant contribution to Arunachal Pradesh’s development.
He praised the team’s commitment to constructing and maintaining vital road infrastructure across some of the most challenging terrains in the country, describing their work as both inspiring and nation-building in spirit.
“The efforts of the Border Roads Organisation have not only improved connectivity but also opened up new avenues for economic growth, enhanced accessibility to remote regions, and strengthened the sense of unity and integration among our people,” the Governor said.
He noted that the organisation’s projects have been instrumental in transforming the socio-economic landscape of Arunachal Pradesh by linking isolated communities and enabling smoother movement of goods and services.
Commending the professionalism and dedication of the BRO personnel, the Governor said their service exemplifies the spirit of perseverance and national commitment.
“Your work demonstrates how infrastructure development can transform lives, foster inclusivity, and drive holistic growth,” he added.
Lt. Gen Parnaik expressed confidence that Project Brahmank would continue to lead from the front in the state’s infrastructure development, adopting innovation and sustainability to further strengthen connectivity in the border regions.
Officials informed the Governor that Project Brahmank has planted around 10,000 trees within its operational areas over the past year under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, reinforcing its commitment to environmental conservation alongside infrastructural advancement.
The Governor appreciated these green initiatives and encouraged the BRO to continue integrating eco-friendly practices in its projects, ensuring that progress and preservation go hand in hand for a sustainable future.
