Baisakhi, Oct 6: In a remarkable display of precision and determination, the 90 Road Construction Company of the 42 Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) under Project Vartak successfully retrieved a Tawang-bound travel bus that had plunged into a deep valley on the BCT Road near Baisakhi, Dirang, in the early hours of October 2.
The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. when the bus reportedly lost control and fell nearly 100 metres down a steep slope.
Upon receiving the information, the 42 BRTF swiftly launched a coordinated recovery operation, mobilising trained personnel and heavy machinery to the site to assess the situation and commence retrieval efforts.
Despite the difficult terrain and limited accessibility, the operation was carried out with exceptional skill and care to ensure safety at every stage.
The recovery efforts began on October 3 and continued through October 4, with teams working tirelessly for two days to bring the vehicle back to the road.
Thanks to the relentless efforts of the BRTF personnel, the bus was successfully recovered without any further incident.
Local residents and officials praised the professionalism, dedication, and resilience of the BRTF team, whose swift response and efficient coordination helped avert additional risks and ensured the safe completion of the operation.
