Deputy CM Chowna Mein attends ATKSSU’s 3rd Annual Felicitation Programme

NAMSAI, July 7: Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Chowna Mein, on Monday graced the 3rd Annual Felicitation Programme organised by the All Tai Khamti Singpho Students’ Union (ATKSSU) at the Multi-Purpose Cultural Hall in Namsai.

The event recognised and celebrated the academic, sporting, cultural, and social achievements of youths from the Tai Khamti and Singpho communities.

According to an official statement, the felicitation programme honoured a diverse group of young achievers including those excelling in state and CBSE board examinations, gold medallists in academics, sportspersons, and individuals making strides in fields such as film, fashion, and social service.

The ceremony aimed to motivate the next generation of community leaders by recognising their dedication and excellence in various fields.

Speaking on the occasion, deputy chief minister Chowna Mein congratulated the awardees and praised their efforts, stating that their accomplishments brought pride not only to their families but to the entire Tai Khamti and Singpho communities.

He encouraged the youth to remain focused, disciplined, and sincere in their aspirations.

“In this era of competitiveness, I urge our youth to pursue their goals with unwavering dedication. The Government of Arunachal Pradesh stands firmly committed to transparency and merit-based recruitment, particularly through the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB),” Mein said.

He also acknowledged and appreciated the ATKSSU leadership under President Branglin Injo and General Secretary Chau Suphita Manjeykhun for their proactive role in promoting youth empowerment and fostering community development.

Mein noted that such initiatives not only honour individual excellence but also strengthen the social fabric by fostering a spirit of unity and progress.

The event was also attended by Zilla Parishad Chairperson Nang Urmila Mancheykhun, Deputy Commissioner of Namsai CR Khampa, Superintendent of Police Sange Thinley, ADC Chongkham K Tikhak, ZPM Chau Jenia Namchoom, and representatives from various community-based organisations including the Tai Khamti Singpho Council (TKSC), Singpho Development Society (SDS), and Tai Khamti Development Society (TKDS).

A large gathering of students and youth from across the district were also present.

The programme served as an important platform to reaffirm the collective commitment of the community to nurture local talent and foster holistic development among its youth.

Officials stated that the felicitation ceremony is not only a recognition of individual merit but also a vital investment in the future of a progressive, culturally rich, and united society.
