DINJAN, July 25: The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. General K.T. Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd.), interacted with officers of the Indian Army at the Dinjan Military Station in Assam’s Dibrugarh district on Friday, during which he spoke at length about the strategic, operational, and humanitarian dimensions of national security, with a particular emphasis on the Indian Army’s role in Arunachal Pradesh.
According to an official statement issued by the Raj Bhavan, the Governor’s address covered the evolving global geopolitical landscape and its direct implications on India’s eastern frontier.
He discussed at length Operation Sindoor, encouraging the Army officers to engage in an in-depth and multi-faceted study of the operation.
Governor Parnaik said such analysis should encompass operational, strategic, and humanitarian aspects, as this would not only strengthen their professional acumen but also equip them with valuable lessons for future deployments.
Drawing from his extensive military experience, the Governor provided insights into perception management, the use of emerging technologies in modern warfare, and the significance of sustained operational preparedness.
He highlighted the importance of anticipating threats and adapting to adversarial tactics in the dynamic security environment that Arunachal Pradesh faces.
The Governor lauded the Indian Army for its dual commitment to national security and civil outreach, particularly acknowledging the efforts of certain units in extending educational and healthcare support to students and residents in remote border villages of Arunachal Pradesh.
These initiatives, he noted, often take place in extremely challenging terrain and reflect the Army’s unwavering commitment to the people it serves.
Governor Parnaik also called upon the officers to sustain and expand their community-focused activities under Operation Sadbhavana.
He emphasised that these people-centric initiatives not only improve the quality of life in remote areas but also deepen the relationship of trust and respect between the Army and the civilian population.
Earlier in the day, the Governor was formally received by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 2 Mountain Division, Major General VS Deshpande.
The GOC briefed him on the Division’s operational responsibilities and the wide-ranging development initiatives undertaken by the Army in the border regions under Operation Sadbhavana.
These projects, he said, are aimed at fostering strong and lasting partnerships with local communities while maintaining border vigilance and national integrity. The Governor’s visit was part of his continued engagement with the armed forces stationed along Arunachal Pradesh’s sensitive international borders, reinforcing the symbiotic relationship between defence preparedness and regional development.
