RAYANG, July 7: In a bid to strengthen emergency preparedness and enhance inter-agency coordination, the Indian Army at Rayang Military Station and the Fire Services Department of Pasighat jointly conducted a comprehensive fire safety drill on Monday.
According to an official statement, the exercise was organised as a follow-up to the recent Military-Civil Fusion Seminar and aimed to refine response protocols, improve cooperation, and ensure the safety of both military personnel and civilians in the event of fire-related emergencies.
The joint drill simulated real-life fire emergency scenarios to test the efficiency of standard operating procedures, reaction times, and operational interoperability between the Army and Fire Services.
The exercise involved rapid mobilisation of fire tenders, deployment of rescue equipment, and activation of Quick Reaction Teams.
These teams carried out containment, evacuation, and rescue operations under conditions designed to mimic actual emergencies.
Senior officers from both the Indian Army and the Fire Services Department were present during the drill and closely monitored the proceedings.
They expressed appreciation for the high level of professionalism, coordination, and discipline demonstrated throughout the exercise.
The statement noted that the drill successfully met its objectives of improving joint operational readiness and reinforcing a safety-conscious mindset among all participants.
The Indian Army reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and preparedness, not just within its own ranks but in collaboration with civilian agencies.
The joint effort reflects the growing emphasis on military-civil cooperation in addressing public safety challenges and safeguarding lives, infrastructure, and vital assets during emergencies.
