International Day of Yoga observed at Golden Pagoda

NAMSAI, June 21: The International Day of Yoga 2025 was observed with great enthusiasm on Saturday at the serene Prayer Hall of the Golden Pagoda in Namsai under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”

The event witnessed notable participation from Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Minister for WCD, Cultural Affairs and Science & Technology Dasanglu Pul, Namsai MLA and Advisor to Home Minister (RWD, Sports & Youth Affairs) Chau Zingnu Namchoom, ZPC Namsai Nang Urmila Mancheykhun, Deputy Commissioner C R Khampa, Commandant of 186 Bn CRPF Dharmender Kumar Singh and Colonel Rajat Bhatia.

The programme included a guided meditation and yoga practice following the Common Yoga Protocol, led by an instructor from the Brahma Kumaris.

A yoga demonstration was also performed by personnel of the 186 Battalion CRPF.

Approximately 500 individuals took part in the celebration.

Participants included representatives from the 4th Madras Regiment (Tezu), 186 Bn CRPF, Assam Rifles, BRO, NHIDCL, APPS, various government departments, Brahma Kumaris, and students from Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) and Government Higher Secondary School, Namsai.

The event highlighted the unifying and healing power of yoga, reinforcing its role in fostering physical and mental well-being across communities.
