The campaign was inaugurated by MLA Tapi Darang (38th East Pasighat Constituency) in the presence of Dr Yagling Perme, District Medical Officer (DMO), Pasighat, and Dr Talung Tali, Joint Director of Health Services, BPGH Pasighat, alongside doctors, nurses, and medical staff.
The event drew wide participation from community leaders and public representatives.
Chief councillor of Pasighat Municipal Council, Okiam Moyong Borang, Miti Megu Perme, president of Adi Bane Ane Kebang, and Olik Tapok Taloh, ZPM Upper Legong-Banggo, were among the prominent attendees.
Members of the BJP Mahila Morcha, East Siang District Wing, as well as large numbers of citizens, also joined the programme, reflecting strong community involvement.
Speaking at the launch, officials emphasised that the Swasth Nari Sasakth Parivar Abhiyan is designed to promote the well-being of women as a cornerstone for healthier families and stronger communities.
Medical experts underscored the importance of regular health check-ups, nutrition awareness, and preventive healthcare measures, particularly for women, who play a vital role in family and societal development.
The campaign will include a series of activities such as health screenings, awareness camps, and outreach programmes to educate women about reproductive health, maternal care, and lifestyle-related diseases.
By involving civic leaders, women’s organisations, and healthcare providers, the mission aims to ensure that the benefits of the campaign reach every section of society.
With its official launch at Pasighat, authorities expressed confidence that the programme will help address gaps in women’s health awareness and contribute to building a healthier and more empowered society in East Siang district.
