150 couples tie nuptial knots in Balijuri

BISWANATH CHARIALI, March 8: A total of 150 couples of the greater Jamuguri-Sootea and Biswanath area tied their nuptial knots at a sacred and grand community marriage ceremony convened by Lok Kalyan Samiti, NER and Jana Kalyan Samiti, Jaipur in association with the general public of Naduar and Biswanath LAC and held at Dr Bhupen Hazarika memorial community hall located at Balijuri under Biswanath district on Sunday.

The religious mass marriage ceremony was held as per the Hindu rituals. The organisers had made arrangements of pandals, reception (feast) besides the band party. Religious priest Devanayak Adhikari offered blessings to the couples in common.

The community marriage ceremony was attended by Naduar MLA Padma Hazarika, Biswanath MLA Pramod Borthakur and ASTC chairman Pallab Lochan Das among others who offered blessings to the couples.
