31st Bn SSB Gossaigaon conducts free medical & veterinary program

GOSSAIGAON, Sept 25: The 31st Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) stationed at Telipara in Gossaigaon, in line with the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ program, organised a free ‘Medical and Veterinary Civic Action Program’ at Kusumbil village under the Gossaigaon sub-division in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday last. The initiative, within their area of responsibility, aimed to provide essential medical and veterinary services to the local community.

The ‘Medical Civic Action Program’ included free health check-ups, distribution of medicines, and health awareness sessions, while the ‘Veterinary Civic Action Program’ provided veterinary check-ups, vaccinations, and livestock treatments—crucial for the villagers’ livelihoods. 

This ‘Civic Action Program’, carried out by the 31st Battalion SSB Gossaigaon, reflected their commitment to the welfare and development of the communities within their jurisdiction. Dr E Chaoba Singh, commandant veterinary of the 6th Battalion SSB Ranighuli, and Dr Biji S, assistant commandant (medical officer) of the 31st Battalion SSB Gossaigaon, attended the program.

In addition to the ‘Civic Action Program’, the 31st Battalion SSB also conducted a cleanliness drive under the theme ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ at Gossaigaon Railway Station to promote a clean and hygienic environment.

Deputy commandant LN Singh of the 31st Battalion SSB emphasised the importance of community involvement in such initiatives to maintain a serene, green, and clean environment. The cleanliness drive covered various areas within the railway station premises.
