ABDM, NHM Organises Digital Swasthya Summit In Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Nov 30: Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and National Health Mission (NHM) in association with the National Health Authority, organized a Digital Swasthya Summit November 30, 2023 at Assam Administrative Staff College here in Guwahati on Thursday, said an official statement.

The summit witnessed the participation of all the leading private hospitals operating in Kamrup Metro as well as various Medical Councils and Medical Associations of Assam who are the important stakeholders of the Digital Healthcare ecosystem of Assam for better implementation of National Health Programmes in a more efficient manner.

Avinash P Joshi, IAS, Addl chief secretary, H&FW, Dr M S Lakshmi Priya, IAS, Mission Director –NHM and ABDM, Pankaj Chamuah, ACS, OSD, NHM, Assam, Officials from National Health Authority, New Delhi (GOI) and state programme officials of ABDM and NHM were also present in the summit.

“The purpose of the summit was to enlighten about the manifold benefits of getting the private health facilities as well as the health professionals on boarded onto the ABDM National Digital Health Ecosystem through its various components, National Health Mission’s ongoing programmes and also on significance of Health Portals in improving performances in health care services in the state,” the statement added.

In the said summit, a detailed presentation and orientation was given to the Nodal/Administrative officers representing the both private and government health institutions on the objectives of health programmes and portals of both ABDM and NHM, its goals and target, role of both government and private hospitals in implementation of the programmes, prevailing gaps in coordination and reporting etc. of the health programmes in the state of Assam.

Speaking on the occasion, Avinash P Joshi stated that “All the Health Facilities should come under the common umbrella by registering under the Health Facility Registry (HFR), and every resident of the country should be encouraged to generate their ABHA numbers to become an active part of the emerging Digital Health Ecosystem”.

“We will ensure that both ABDM and NHM will move forward together for providing the best possible healthcare services to the people of the state and thus strengthening the health system of Assam. Hence, the joint cooperation of all the Health service providers both government and private shall be utmost important for the successful implementation of both the Missions,” said Dr M S Lakshmi Priya.
