KOKRAJHAR, Nov 22: The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) has expressed deep gratitude to Himanta Biswa Sarma, chief minister of Assam, and Biswajit Daimary, Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, for the historic installation of a sandstone monolith pillar at the Assam Legislative Assembly premises on Thursday amidst a ceremony in Dispur.
In a press statement, ABSU president Dipen Boro and general secretary Khanindra Basumatary stated that the students’ union has expressed its deepest gratitude to Himanta Biswa Sarma, chief minister of Assam, for his visionary initiative to install a sandstone monolith pillar at the entrance of the Assam Legislative Assembly. This installation, commemorating the ancient Kachari civilisation, is seen by ABSU as a momentous tribute to the rich cultural and historical heritage of Assam.

The union concluded the letter with words of appreciation for CM Sarma’s tireless efforts to revive and celebrate the rich history of Assam.
