‘Agantuk’ observes birth anniversary of Dipali Bhatta Baruah

SIVASAGAR, Dec 8: The 66th birth anniversary of poet, writer and former Rangpur Sahitya Sabha president Dipali Bhattacharya Baruah was observed on Monday by the socio-cultural organisation Agantuk at her residence on Sankar Mandir Road.

Senior academicians Prof Sonaram Baruah, Prof Suresh Saikia, Dr Prakash Kotoky, Prof Monica Saikia, Agantuk president Juga Gogoi, Swarna Borbora Barua, Jeuti Bora Bhuyan, Dipali Swargiari, Tarun Chandra Nath, Hem Barua and Janam Khanikar extended their wishes to the writer, praying for her good health and an active creative life.

Baruah, a literary pensioner and a committed advocate for women’s and children’s rights, has authored and edited 13 books.

Noted poet Punjan Baruah spoke in detail on her two poetry collections, while Dr Prasanta Kumar Chutia highlighted key aspects of her short stories. Dr Lipi Phukan also addressed the gathering.
