Guwahati, Aug 5: The Badruddin Ajmal-led AIUDF on Friday claimed that right from former Assam chief minister Hiteswar Saikia’s regime, political parties of the state in power have been creating jihadi propaganda to hide its failure and corruption charges from time to time.

However, the AIUDF exclaimed that no government over the last 23 years has dared to reveal a single case of attack attempted by the so called jihadi modules.

Talking to the press persons here, AIUDF chief spokesperson Aminul Islam said that starting from the Hiteswar Saikia-led Congress regime, former chief ministers including Prafulla Mahanta, Tarun Gogoi and Sarbananda Sonowal all tried to alarm the state citing Jihadi modules’ spreading in the state.

“Similarly, present chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma also rang a similar alarm bell on August 4, last. As such, we urge the Assam government to reveal if any jihadi leader or cadre were involved in the Dhemaji and Ganeshguri blasting cases,” Isla said.

Stressing that the Assam government has been repeatedly failing to disclose official records of jihadi attack in the state, the senior AIUDF leader said, “Whenever there is failure in the parts of the government and serious charges of corruption, Dispur immediately starts blowing horn on the jihadi. Accordingly, jihadi modules affiliated to the Harkat Ul Mijahidin, Huji, Al Qaeda, ISIS becomes a part of the talks on terror.”

However, AIUDF spokesperson Islam also urged Dr Sarma to uproot right from the ground if any jihadi module is trying to establish its foundation in the state. Besides, he also urged the government as well as the police administration to immediately arrest the one working for Jihadi modules in the state.
