HOJAI, March 2: The 1st Central Executive Meeting of 2026 of the All Assam Judicial Employees Association (AAJEA) was held on Sunday at Sankardev Nagar Junior College in Srimanta Sankardev Nagar, Hojai district.
The meeting was presided over by Pankaj Jyoti Sarma, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Karbi Anglong District Court and president of AAJEA, with assistance from Partha Pratim Sarma, CAO of MACT Kamrup Amingaon and vice-president of the association.
Kalyanjit Borah, president of the Hojai District Court unit, along with staff members, actively participated in the deliberations.
Several key issues concerning judicial employees were discussed during the meeting.
The association resolved to urge the Gauhati High Court and the Assam Government to implement the recommendations of the Justice Shetty Commission, including the creation of Bench Clerk posts and enhancement of travelling allowance (TA) for process servers.
The members also demanded graduate pay scales for Junior Assistants and Senior Assistants.
The meeting further called for faster disposal of medical reimbursement claims by district-level committees headed by the respective District Judges.
The association also pressed for extension of Children Education Allowance and Remote Area Allowance to eligible staff members.
Members were updated on the status of the “One Nation One Pay” case, which is currently pending final hearing before the Supreme Court.
In his concluding remarks, Pankaj Jyoti Sarma expressed gratitude to the Hojai unit for successfully organising the meeting.
He thanked Purajit Das, Biplab Ch Dey, Tribun Jyoti Sarma, Dipon Das, Bishnu Sah, Rupchand Sahu, Alok Malakar, Jayanta Hazarika, Gautam Teron, Lakhiram Borah, Krishna Rabi Das and Uttam Hafila for their active participation.
He also conveyed special thanks to Kalyanjit Borah, Partha Pratim Sarma and retired Bench Clerk Cheniram Tamuli for their support and cooperation.
Sarma appreciated the hospitality and dedication of the Hojai team and concluded the meeting with the slogan, “Long Live All Assam Judicial Employees Association.”
