In a release published by the club, secretary Piku Borgohain and president Ankur appealed to fans and well-wishers to refrain from bursting firecrackers or from throwing lavish parties during the festival. They urged that as Assam remains in mourning for Zubeen’s death and that paying obeisance to his soul in the form of silence and prayer would be a more appropriate tribute.

The appeal emphasizes the ongoing emotional bond between the artist and his fans throughout the state. Even months since his demise, Zubeen Garg’s power continues to inspire people and turn a festival of lights into one of remembrance and spiritual contemplation.
