NAGAON, Aug 13: Areef Ahmed, Principal of Ajmal Modern Residential School (AMRS), Hojai, a unit of Ajmal Super 40 under the Ajmal Foundation, has been conferred with the ‘Best North East Zonal Principal Award 2024-25’ by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF), New Delhi.
The award recognises his vision, leadership and academic initiatives that enabled AMRS students to deliver outstanding performances in the SOF Olympiad Examinations during the 2024-25 academic session.

In the previous year, Mehraj Barbhuiya, a Class X student, secured the 1st Zonal Rank along with a scholarship, Zonal Gold Medal and Certificate of Zonal Excellence in the SOF International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO).
This year, 21 students of AMRS cleared Level 2 of the SOF Olympiads. Among them, Class X students Khusbu Akhter Masud and Sahavan Langthasa secured Zonal Rank 2 with scholarships in the National Science Olympiad (NSO) and IMO, respectively.
Mir Mukul Ali, Olympiad In-charge of AMRS, was also honoured with the ‘Best Overall Coordinator’ and the ‘Best Zonal Teacher Award 2024-25’ by the SOF.
Ajmal Foundation Managing Trustees Badruddin Ajmal and Sirajuddin Ajmal, MLA Binnakandi, along with Director Dr Khasrul Islam, General Manager Dr M.R.H. Azad, and Project Head Abdul Kadir, congratulated Areef Ahmed for bringing laurels to AMRS and to the Hojai district, a release stated.
