Anundoram Borooah Award distributed in Chirang

HT CorrespondentKOKRAJHAR, Sept 8: Along with other districts of the state, a total of 209 students who passed the High School Leaving Certificate Examination and Assam High Madrasa Examination this year by securing star marks and distinction marks were given the Anundoram Borooah Award at the auditorium of Kajalgaon High School under the initiative of district administration and district Education department of Chirang district on Wednesday.

This year’s Anundoram Borooah Award includes a financial incentive of Rs 16,000 and a certificate of appreciation.

Attending as chief guest in the award ceremony, Rajya Sabha MP Rwngwra Narzary ceremonially distributed the awards to the students. He expressed concern over the low passing rate in the HSLC examination, 2022 in the district and urged the officials of the education department to improve this rate in the coming days.

BTC executive member of Forest department Ranjit Basumatary, council member Pradeep Kumar Bayan, deputy commissioner P Vijay Bhaskar Reddy and additional deputy commissioner Ajit Kumar Sharma also spoke on the occasion.
