MARGHERITA, Feb 10: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has launched a new programme called “Door to Door Congress” ahead of the upcoming panchayat elections.
The programme aims to reconnect the party at the grassroot level.
Makum pathar Mandal Congress Committee on Monday organised a “Door to Door Congress” programme at the residence of Manoj Borgohain president of Makum Pathar Mandal Congress where Bhupen Kumar Borah president of APCC officially launched it and upon his arrival, party workers welcomed him with a grand bike rally, Bihu and Jhumur dance.
The programme was attended by various senior and prominent congress leaders such as Durga Bhumij former Doomdooma MLA and general secretary of APCC, Raju Sahu former Chabua MLA and APCC vice president, Balika lahon Pegu APCC vice president, Pranjal Ghatowar general secretary (i/c) APCC, Prasenjit Choudhary APCC secretary, Avinash Gogoi secretary (i/c) APCC, Amit Gogoi, secretary APCC, Dilip Moran vice president of APCC, Ramanna Baruah, general secretary (Administration), Jayanta Kalita, president of Tinsukia district congress committee, Nabin Gogoi, vice president APCC, Tara Prasad Dehingia president of Margherita Block Congress Committee, Mitali Baruah, president of Margherita Block Mahila Congress Committee, Avisek Beldar president of Margherita Assembly Youth Congress, Pranjal Chetia, chairman of social media and digital platform Margherita Block Congress Committee, Abhijit Baruah, president of Margherita NSUI with more than 500 grassroots level congress workers from 83 no Margherita Constituency were present.
Bhupen Kumar Borah in his speech said that “‘Door to Door Congress’ programme has been officially launched from Margherita today onwards as we have come to listen what people think and what they want”.
The programme is part of the party’s strategy to regain its strength in the state as the APCC has been working to revamp its organisation and connect with the people of Assam through “Door to Door Congress” programme which is expected to play a crucial role in this effort in the upcoming panchayat election.
While it’s difficult to predict the outcome of this programme, it’s clear that the APCC is committed to regain its strength in the state.
However the success of this programme depends on various factors, including the party’s ability to connect with the people and addressing their concerns.
