Har Ghar Tiranga Rallies held across Assam

GUWAHATI, Aug 13: Along with the rest of the country, Debolal Gorlosa, chief executive member of the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, and DHAC executive member Donphainon Thaosen participated in the Har Ghar Tiranga Rally organised by District Sports and Youth Welfare under the aegis of the Dima Hasao district administration and the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council on Tuesday. District commissioner Simanta Kumar Das and principal secretary Thai Tsho Daulagupu were also present, along with officers from the district administration and various departments

Beginning on Monday, various groups such as students and social workers organised rallies signifying the celebration of Har Ghar Tiranga in different parts of the district. The Dima Hasao police also organised a Tiranga Yatra across the Greater Haflong area on Monday, while the district administration, in collaboration with the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, held a Tiranga Rally with students, youth, volunteers, NGOs, etc., on Tuesday from the council gate to the market area and back to the council gate.

A Tiranga Run is also scheduled for Wednesday morning by the 32 Assam Rifles in collaboration with the Commandant of Home Guards, starting at 9:30 am. All offices and institutions were seen displaying the Tiranga on their premises from Tuesday. Har Ghar Tiranga-themed essay and drawing competitions were held in all institutions, organised by the Inspector of Schools.

Self-Help Groups under the Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission organised a Tiranga Mela starting from Tuesday, which will be held until August 15. For public participation, selfie points and Tiranga canvases were set up at different locations in Haflong and at the block level.

Our Tezpur correspondent adds: District commissioner Deba Kumar Mishra participated in a Tiranga Rally held at Tezpore & Gogra Tea Estate in Sonitpur on Tuesday in connection with the Har Ghar Tiranga program. The district commissioner was accompanied by additional district commissioner Raj Boruah, assistant labour commissioner of Tezpur Jogat Jibon Dutta, medical inspector of plantations of Sonitpur Dr Pradip Kumar Lahkar, ex-chairperson of Sonitpur Zilla Parishad Dolly Surin, and manager of Tezpore & Gogra Tea Estates, Sonitpur Sunando Mukhopadhaya, along with more than 400 people from the locality in the rally.

It should be noted that Tiranga Rallies were organised on Tuesday in all 35 tea estates of Sonitpur district, where around 6000 people participated across the district.

Our Margherita correspondent adds: As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and to mark the 78th Independence Day celebration across the country, members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Sadar Mandal, Block Mandal, and Town Mandal of Margherita took out a massive Tiranga Rally on Tuesday, with more than 500 motorcycles participating. The rally started from Powai and proceeded to the Ledo area.

The Tiranga Rally was organised to show respect to the freedom fighters who made the supreme sacrifice for our country’s independence.

Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma also participated in the Tiranga Rally.

Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma said that to celebrate the country’s 78th Independence Day on Thursday, the Bharatiya Janata Yuba Morcha Sadar Mandal, Block Mandal, and Town Mandal Margherita took the initiative for the Tiranga Rally that started from Powai. “I am happy that all sections of people in Margherita have highly appreciated the Tiranga rally, and I request all the people of the Margherita region to attend on Thursday at Central Margherita Playground, where the grand celebration of the Independence Day programme is scheduled to be held,” he added.

Our Demow correspondent adds: As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, under the patronage of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha, Demow constituency, a bike rally with Tiranga was taken out in the Demow area on Tuesday for the upcoming 78th Independence Day. The bike rally went through the Demow area on Tuesday. In the rally, BJP Yuva Morcha leaders and the bike riders carried the Tiranga with them. Following the instructions of the BJP party, Demow Municipality workers and BJP party workers lit earthen lamps in front of a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi situated in Demow Public Playground on Tuesday.

Our Jorhat correspondent adds: Coinciding with the 78th Independence Day celebrations, the Jorhat district administration took out a Tiranga Yatra (rally) across the town on Tuesday as part of the ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.

The rally was flagged off by Jorhat superintendent of police Shwetank Mishra in the presence of Jorhat district commissioner Pulak Mahanta and district administration officials at the Jorhat DC office campus.

School and college students, NCC cadets, teachers, and citizens from different walks of life, along with the Jorhat DC, SP, district administration officials and employees, Jorhat Municipal Board chairperson, and vice-chairman, took part in the rally holding the national flag.

A motorbike rally was also taken out on the occasion by Army and Assam Rifles personnel from the Military Station (41 Sub-Area) at Lichubari.

Tiranga Rallies were also taken out in Teok and Mariani from the Revenue Circle Office campuses, in which a large number of people participated. The Titabar sub-divisional administration took out the Tiranga Rally in Titabar town on Monday.
