Due to age-related issues, Bhogeswar Barua could not participate in the morning run, a tradition in which he had been the star attraction for many years during the Abhiruchi Sports Day Run in Guwahati. Despite not travelling to Guwahati, Barua expressed happiness at being among familiar faces at home in Sivasagar, continuing to inspire young talents. The morning marathon was flagged off by district sports officer Sanjay Upadhyaya and the president of Sivasagar Sports Association, Punaram Mili. The marathon concluded near Bhogeswar Barua’s life-size statue near the Sivasagar Circuit House.
