GUWAHATI, Jan 24: The Bharatiya Janata Party, Assam Pradesh, is set to publish its forthcoming “Sankalp Patra” (Vision Document) for the upcoming Assembly elections, adopting a participatory approach to incorporate suggestions from people across all sections of society, organisations, and eminent individuals.

To facilitate this process, the party has launched an extensive initiative under which one specially designed video van, termed a “Suggestions Van”, will be deployed in each Assembly constituency.

The initiative was announced by State BJP Spokesperson Shri Pranjal Kalita through a press communique issued from the party’s state headquarters, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan.

The campaign will be formally inaugurated by chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the playground of the Veterinary College in Khanapara, Guwahati.

The inaugural programme will also be attended by State BJP President and Darrang–Udalguri MP Dilip Saikia, BJP Assembly Election In-charge Baijayant Jay Panda, and Election Management Committee Convenor and Lakhimpur MP Pradan Barua.

With a target of collecting over two lakh public suggestions from across the state, the party has arranged for the deployment of more than 75 video vans across five zones in the state.

Similar inauguration programmes for the Suggestions Van campaign will be organised from Sunday at multiple locations, including Nalbari, Silchar, Sivasagar, and Biswanath, with the participation of Cabinet ministers and Members of Parliament.

BJP MLAs, district presidents, and senior party functionaries will also take part in the campaign within their respective Assembly constituencies.

In addition to the mobile outreach initiative, the Assam BJP has opened a dedicated phone number—7002126126—for citizens to submit their suggestions for the Sankalp Patra.

People from any part of the state can contribute their inputs by giving a missed call to the number, enabling wider public participation in shaping the party’s vision document.
