Assam: Chowkidar of Dolamara school in police net

DIPHU, Feb 15: Police have managed to arrest the person involved in the leakage of question papers of Class –IX annual examination, 2023 conducted by the District Level Internal Examination Committee (DLIEC) under the administrative control of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council.

The SP, Karbi Anglong, Sanjib Kumar Saikia in a press conference held here on Wednesday said the  Chowkidar of Malasai High School, Dolamara in Karbi Anglong district was involved in the leakage of the question papers.

The SP said that following the complaint regarding leakage of question papers on February 12 in a social media platform, the police immediately took action on it.

The police arrested the owner of the printer, where the question papers were re-printed to be sold to students.

On the basis of the confessional statement made by the owner of the printing press, a police team led by additional SP, Nilutpal Saikia arrested Samuel Engti, chowkidar of Malasi High School, Dolamara.

The SP said that Engti had opened the packets of question papers dispatched to the school and sold them to Anand Teron for Rs 1,500.

Anand Teron then re-printed it.

It may be mentioned that the District Level Internal Examination Committee (DLIEC) conducts the annual examination under the supervision of the inspector of schools, Karbi Anglong District Circle.

There was a complaint of question paper leakage and due to this, the examination of General Mathematics, Social Science, Advance Mathematics, etc. (Elective) and General Science subjects had to be rescheduled to March, 2023.
