New Delhi, Feb 18: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday in New Delhi during the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national convention.
Sarma, via a post on X, informed that he briefed Shah about various welfare initiatives in Assam. He was also part of the Chief Minister’s Conclave attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sarma expressed commitment to achieve 100% saturation of all Modi Government’s welfare schemes within a specified timeframe. The BJP’s national convention was held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, where PM Modi emphasized on nation building over politics.
Prime Minister Modi declared that his administration displayed courage and resolve in undertaking and completing tasks that had been delayed for a long time. He highlighted the significance of his 10-year successful term and the upliftment of 25 crore individuals from poverty.
He stated, ‘We liberated the nation from the menace of major scams and terrorist attacks, and earnestly worked towards enhancing the lives of the poor and middle class. Despite fulfilling all major promises, we continue to work hard to accomplish tasks pending for decades.’ He also mentioned the construction and inauguration of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, ending a centuries-long wait. Modi asserted that he did not yearn for power and never put his personal interests above the nation’s.
