GUWAHATI, April 26: Chief minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday gave Rs. 5 lakh to athlete Amlan Borgohain to help him for better preparation for the upcoming 2022 Asian Games slated to be held in Hangzhou.
Amlan Borgohain who recently created a new national record in men’s 200 m held at Calicut in Kerala, already cleared the qualifying time for the 2022 Asian Games to be held in September 2022.

Chief minister Dr. Sarma while rendering this financial assistance to help the athlete’s training and nutrition purposes for the games also wished him good show in the event.
It may be noted that chief minister Dr. Sarma met the athlete in his office on 22 April and sought financial help. In view of this Dr. Sarma gave this financial assistance to the athlete.
