The visit included interactions with distinguished citizens, council authorities, and departmental officials, and concluded with a strong message emphasising timely and effective implementation of welfare schemes across the district.

According to an official statement, the Governor’s first engagement was an interaction with Padma Shri awardees, noted sportspersons, social activists, and freedom fighters at the Conference Hall of Kajir Ronghangpi Guest House.

Recognising their contributions to society, Governor Acharya hailed them as torchbearers of the district’s unique cultural and social heritage.

“True development lies not only in infrastructural progress but also in the preservation and promotion of one’s own heritage,” he said, adding that meaningful development occurs when cultural identity and tradition are integrated into broader progress.

Later, the Governor chaired a high-level meeting with Chief Executive Member (CEM) Tuliram Ronghang and Executive Members of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC).

He urged the Council to intensify efforts toward addressing developmental challenges and prioritise public welfare.

“Making Assam one of the best-performing states in the country must be our collective mission,” he added.

The Governor reviewed the implementation status of major Central and State schemes under the jurisdiction of the KAAC.

He called for stronger delivery mechanisms to enhance the success rate of initiatives aimed at inclusive development.

Special attention was given to the agriculture and fishery sectors, which Governor Acharya described as critical to the district’s economic sustainability.

He encouraged a focused and coordinated approach to revitalise these sectors, turning them into key drivers of both district-level and state-wide growth.

The review covered flagship schemes including the Amrit Sarovar project, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, PM Fasal Bima Yojana, and PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi.

The Governor urged officials to extend the benefits of the National Social Assistance Programme to more eligible individuals, ensuring wider social protection.

He also took note of progress under the Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASRLM) and called for capacity-building and financial support to empower women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

He emphasised the importance of creating sustainable livelihoods through training and linkages.

Governor Acharya further reviewed the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission, PM POSHAN (Mid-Day Meal), and Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY, reiterating the need for effective monitoring and last-mile delivery.

On the health front, he sought detailed updates on the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and the Nikshay Mitra initiative, emphasising early detection and community support as key to success.

Applauding the Public Works Department (PWD) for its efforts in improving road connectivity, the Governor highlighted the strategic importance of infrastructure in facilitating development and service delivery.

In his concluding remarks, Governor Acharya urged all officials and stakeholders to work in synergy with dedication and service-mindedness.

“The true success of any scheme lies in its reach to the last beneficiary. Let us commit ourselves to this goal and work together for a stronger and more developed Assam,” he said.

The visit underscored the importance of accountability, coordination, and inclusive governance in realising the vision of Viksit Assam and Viksit Bharat.
