Guwahati, Sept 14: Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi visited the Border Trade Centre at Darranga along the India-Bhutan border area in Tamulpur district on Wednesday. He took stock of the facilities put in place at the trade centre to promote sustainable growth of trade exchange with Bhutan.
The Governor said that since economic enterprises hold the key for the development of people living along the Indo-Bhutan border, lending vibrancy to the trade centre is the key for the development of the economy and the people living along the border areas.
The Governor during his visit to the district also held a meeting with the villagers and the representatives of No.1 Paharpur, Sukanjuli, Sashipur, N.C. Angarkata, Darangamela and Goibari in presence of deputy commissioner, Tamulpur Simanta Kumar Das and SP Pankaj Yadav and other officials of the district administration.
