Guwahati, 22 Oct: The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), Division-II, has released the schedule for the Higher Secondary Final Examination 2026, set to take place between February and March. Online registration for the exams will start on 22 October, and end on 25 November.
The board has made it clear that no offline or provisional forms will be accepted. Institutions will be informed about the official registration portal in the coming days. Heads of schools and colleges are responsible for ensuring that every eligible student completes the registration within the deadline, as missing it will make students ineligible to sit for the exams. Institutions must also pay an affiliation renewal fee of ₹1,000 before submitting forms.
Candidates’ registration numbers remain valid for five years, and those beyond this period must obtain special permission for re-registration. First-time examinees from recognised streams are classified as regular, while students from institutions lacking recognition for certain subjects are categorised as institutional private and must pay the applicable fees. Students in government, provincialised, or recognised venture schools whose parents’ combined annual income is below ₹2 lakh are exempt from centre and examination fees. The board has reiterated that subject changes will not be allowed once the registration begins.
Previous candidates can apply under Betterment Chance, Re-appearance, In Certain Subject, Compartmental, or Repeat schemes. The chosen scheme cannot be changed after submission, and candidates must attend practical examinations for subjects with practical components.
