Assam: Lecture On Women Empowerment

BISWANATH CHARIALI, April 7: Lokra Battalion under the aegis of Headquarter 21 Sector Assam Rifles and Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organised a lecture on Women Empowerment for the local female youth of Sonitpur district at Lokra Garrison on Tuesday. The lecture was aimed to educate local youth on various policies undertaken by the Government of India for the welfare and upliftment of women in various fields. The youth were also enlightened on how women are playing a dominant and important role in all spheres towards the progress of the nation. Assam Rifles has been at the forefront to make a difference in the lives of women by empowering and motivating them through initiating various schemes and projects. During the event, motivational talks were also delivered by Riflewomen of Assam Rifles, who are a part of Directorate General Assam Rifles Judo Team. The attendees expressed gratitude to the Lokra Battalion for organising the awareness lecture and the concerted efforts towards the betterment of women in society. A total of 24 women participated in the event with much enthusiasm.
