Guwahati, Nov 13: A man from Assam was found murdered in a forested area near Dawki in Meghalaya, with police suspecting that his vehicle was hijacked by miscreants before he was killed. The deceased has been identified as Tapan Dey, a resident of Basistha in Guwahati.
Dey had reportedly travelled from Guwahati to Meghalaya last Saturday. During the journey, a group of assailants allegedly hijacked his vehicle and later murdered him, leaving his body deep inside the forest. The shocking discovery was made late on Wednesday night.
