Guwahati, March 18: The Special Task Force (STF) on March 18, acting on credible intelligence about the circulation of Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN), conducted a definitive raid near Maniram Dewan Trade Center, Gorchuk, at Rajib Gandhi Path.

An individual named Md. Gulzar (26), a native of Hapur District, Uttar Pradesh, was apprehended during the operation.

The raid resulted in the recovery of substantial evidence, including 392 FICN in the denomination of Rs. 500, totalling to Rs. 1,92,000. A mobile phone and Rs. 677 in cash were also seized from the location.
The accused is currently undergoing legal proceedings at Gorchuk Police Station while authorities persist in their efforts to dismantle counterfeit currency networks.
