JORHAT, June 16: A suspected sex racket was busted in Assam’s Jorhat district and 13 people, including eight women, were arrested, police said on Tuesday.
The arrests were made during a raid at a hotel in Jorhat town on Monday, they said.

“The operation was carried out on basis of specific information that a sex racket was operating for some time. During the raid, 13 people, including eight women, were apprehended,” a police officer said.

“The main person running the racket is absconding and efforts are underway to nab him,” he said.
The manager of the hotel and five of its staff were also picked up by the police for questioning in the case.
“Further investigation is on to dismantle the entire network,” the officer added. (PTI)
