SIVASAGAR, Dec 3: Addressing the students in Sivasagar Fuleswari Girls’ HS School on Saturday in an awareness programme on Nature Conservation, Soumyadeep Datta, director of Nature’s Beckon said that the forests once destroyed cannot be recreated despite our best efforts and similarly all natural objects are precious and have to be preserved by us.
He urged the students to take part voluntarily in the movement for nature conservation ‘Moi Prithivir Babe Mangaljanak’ that Nature’s Beckon plans to undertake throughout the State.
Speaking on the occasion, Manoj Kr Borthakur, president of the SMDC, Fuleswari Girls’ HS, said that every student of class IX to XII must read the fantastic story of the evolution of living organisms on the planet earth. Brojen Phukan, the environmental activist, said that we should not set fire to anything as it produces excess CO2 and use-up essential oxygen. Dr. Jehiruddin Khan presided over the meeting and Pronob Baruah, principal of the school gave away the prizes to the students that took part in the essay competition.
